This year, four projects totalling 80,000 euros received funding from the global education call for proposals organised by the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV).

The selected projects will focus on integrating global education into the Estonian education system.

Global education aims to raise active global citizens who know what is happening in the world, the causes of events and how they affect us. This call for proposals was designed to find ways to promote global education by supporting the development of children’s and young people's skills, knowledge, and attitudes in accordance with the global citizen competency model and Estonia’s strategic educational goals.

"Increasing global awareness in Estonian society is important because every person can change the world for the better through purposeful action. The global education projects supported by ESTDEV focus primarily on equipping young people with the necessary skills, knowledge and values to help them cope with the challenges of the 21st century," said Kristi Kulu, ESTDEV's programme manager for Education.

The petition is open for signing until the end of this year.
