Whilst the importance of cybersecurity is slowly being recognized more and more, it still remains a challenging area for focus and importance from the perspective of leadership and is often a trade-off for more businesscritical investments. Leadership training and awareness shifts the perspective of cybersecurity as an “IT” problem to strategic threat allowing for an understanding of the risk and making of informed decisions when it comes to resource allocation.

Important topic blocks include, among others, the fundamentals of executive-level cybersecurity, risk management and business impacts, compliance requirements and responsibilities, crisis resolution, and a holistic security culture.

Project objectives

The aim of the project is to improve the level of cybersecurity amongst executive officials in the government and critical infrastructure sectors of Uganda by raising awareness of cybersecurity issues at the strategic decision-making (management) level.

Actions and results

The project will develop an engaging and interactive training format as well as a sustainable exercising capability that can further be used by organizations individually to strengthen their cybersecurity resilience. The companies will receive a concrete and practical tool that enables them to effectively train and improve management level cybersecurity matters.
Key activities of the project include a large-scale training seminar focused at the leadership level of Ugandan public and private critical organizations as well as the delivery and knowledge transfer of the STRATEX Platform, a tool designed specifically for cybersecurity leadership trainings.
