Two on-site trainings will be carried out as part of a project to support the professional development of Armenian teachers. On 25-26.03.2024 a training for teachers is planned in Kapan, Syunik region, which is also Estonia's contribution to the TEI "Resilient Syunik", and on 28-29.03.2024 a training for teachers is planned in Lori region at the COAF SMART Centre. The target group of the "Train the trainer" training are teachers who are ready to share their experience with colleagues later. The training will be conducted by experts Margit Timakov (on-site) and Triinu Kärbla (contribution to project preparation, preparation of the learning map and conducting the training online). The training will also be accompanied by a workshop booklet for participants with practical worksheets and theoretical reading material and suggestions. A paper version of the workshop booklet will be handed out to participants on the spot, but will also be available electronically for further use and distribution.

Project objectives

The aim of the project is to support the professional development of Armenian teachers and to provide training focused on strengthening teachers' pedagogical skills to improve students' functional reading skills and, more broadly, to implement educational innovation in schools.

Actions and results

  • Preparation of the training concept and identification of experts; coordination and approval of the concept and the programme with Armenian partners; conclusion of contracts; selection of training participants in cooperation with Armenian partners.
  • At least 40 Armenian teachers will undergo the training: content of the training, preparation of the workshop and delivery of the training.
  • In cooperation with the project partners, the needs for follow-up training and further possible areas of cooperation will be mapped: collecting feedback from participants; mapping follow-up training and further cooperation based on feedback and meetings with participants and partners.
