The innovative Estonian technology school //kood will continue the new study cycle of the programming school kood/Nairobi, launched last year, in order to contribute to the modernization of Kenya’s education system through the development of future skills that meet the needs of the labor market and the digital economy.

Project objectives

The project aims to strengthen Kenya’s education-to-employment pathway by equipping youth with labour-market relevant digital and programming skills through innovative cloud-based learning model, with the objective of improving youth employability and strengthening links between education and labour market.

Actions and results

Main activities include implementing a one-year IT training programme with local university, delivering selection bootcamps, facilitating peer-learning coding education, and building cooperation networks between education institutions and employers. Direct beneficiaries are Kenyan youth learners, university staff, while employers benefit from improved availability of highly skilled ICT professionals.
