Women in GovTech Challenge 2025
Bridging the Gap: Women Shaping the Future of Digital Services
The global GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge (WiGTC) returns for its second cohort, building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2024 that saw 139 women from 49 countries participate. This edition in Partnership with the World Bank and the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Safeguards Initiative, UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies, empowers women innovators to design and develop inclusive, citizen-centric digital government services while fostering a robust network of women leaders in GovTech. The program aims to enhance participants' technical and leadership skills. It is envisioned to showcase the top service proposals developed as part of the challenge at an international high-level event. Women are invited to join the Challenge as Mentees or Mentors.

Program Highlights
- Capacity Building: Comprehensive training on the GovStack building block approach, safe and inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) through the Universal DPI Safeguards Framework and best practices for digital service design.
- Mentorship: Tailored guidance from a diverse pool of female technical mentors.
- Collaboration: Teamwork on real-world use cases, supported by facilitators.
- Showcase Opportunities: Presentation of top solutions at an international high-level event. Finalists of the 2024 edition presented at WSIS 2024 in Geneva.

Participants will engage in
- Weekly lectures and office hours across 6 weeks.
- Team-based assignments leading to a final pitch.
- E-learnings powered by atingi.
- Mentoring sessions and dedicated technical support.
Outcomes for Participants
- Mastery of interoperable and reusable software components, GovStack Building Blocks principles and agile service design.
- A comprehensive understanding of the DPI Safeguards and the centrality of safeguards into service design and delivery.
