The project is part of the longer-term Latitude59 Global Village concept, which aims to build connections between innovation ecosystems around the world. Cooperation with Estonian partners ensures that the project also brings Estonian expertise to the region in the fields of e-governance, green technology, and ecosystem development.

Project objectives

The project creates a sustainable cross-border innovation ecosystem cooperation model between Uganda, Zambia, and Kenya, strengthening local support organizations' capacity to implement the green and digital transition.

Actions and results

Through three one-day interactive events (March-April 2026) in Uganda, Zambia, and Kenya, we will map ecosystem needs, conduct Challenge Labs on green transition themes, and establish the East Africa Innovation Ecosystem Ambassadors Network. The project engages 60-75 innovation support organization representatives, 45-60 startups, 30-45 investors, and 30-45 public sector representatives. Results will be consolidated in November 2026 at the Nairobi Regional Consolidation Forum within Latitude59 Kenya Edition, where the best projects and partnership agreements will be presented to an international audience (700+ participants). Outstanding participants will be integrated into the global Latitude59 network at the Tallinn conference in May 2027.
