Project objectives
The purpose of the project is to support the integration of Ukrainian researchers and research institutions into the European Research Area and to intensify scientific cooperation between Estonia and Ukraine. To this end, networking, finding partners and participation in joint projects will be promoted, and the awareness and ability of Ukrainian partners to participate in the EU's research and innovation framework program "European Horizon" will be increased.
Actions and results
The project's activities are planned as a comprehensive chain of influence in order to strengthen research cooperation between Estonia and Ukraine, map mutual competencies and create practical prerequisites for the creation of joint applications on the "European Horizon".
1) Strengthening Estonian-Ukrainian scientific cooperation and increasing the international visibility of Ukrainian researchers
- Organizing international scientific cooperation conferences in Estonia and, if possible, in Ukraine - serve as meeting places where new contacts, cooperation ideas and consortium initiatives are born.
2) Supporting partner search and networking
- Organizing virtual information and partnership events aimed at specific "European Horizon" application rounds
- Supporting the participation of Ukrainian researchers/research administrators in partnership events organized by the European Commission
3) Raising the awareness and capacity of researchers and support staff of Ukrainian universities
- Organization of thematic trainings, seminars and practical workshops
- Mentoring program "Horizon Europe" on the topics of application preparation and project implementation (Train the Trainers)
4) Building networks and activities promoting the preparation of joint applications
- Involvement of Ukrainian researchers/research administrators/experts in international scientific events held in Estonia
- Supporting study and short visits of Ukrainian and Estonian researchers/research administrators/experts in both directions
