Project objectives
As a result of the project, awareness among the Estonian population—especially among social groups with lower levels of awareness—of development cooperation, humanitarian aid, and global education as part of Estonia’s values-based foreign policy, economic development, and security has increased. In addition, the overall public perception of development cooperation and related fields has improved.
Actions and results
Communicational activities include an 18-episode radio series “Arenguvestlus”, a programmatic collaboration with the Matsalu Nature Film Festival and nationwide media work. In cooperation with NGO Mondo and the Estonian Society of History and Social Studies Teachers, a seminar will be held for educators on development cooperation, humanitarian aid, and global education. Global education working group meetings will continue, and regular public opinion surveys will serve as the basis for data-driven communication.
The project builds on previous collaboration, strategically involves sectoral organisations and policymakers, and helps to sustainably strengthen these topics in public.
