At the heart of the project is the empowerment of girls by enhancing their self-confidence and expanding their educational and career choices.

Project objectives

The aim of the project is to strengthen the skills and interest of 300 girls in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in Kisumu County, Kenya.

Actions and results

In collaboration with TalTech and CIVS, Mondo will implement teacher training in six schools based on a customized curriculum developed by TalTech. This training will be followed by a structured mentorship program and will also involve community members, parents and teaching assistants, with a total of 60 science education facilitators trained.

Through project activities, social norms that often limit girls' participation in digital and technological fields will be challenged and reduced. By actively involving the wider community, the project also raises awareness of the value of girls in STEM fields and supports their confidence to independently choose their educational paths.
