Digital Pedagogy Development Program for Teacher Educators in Kenya

As part of the project, customized training modules will be developed, focusing on digital competence development, technology-enhanced learning design, and supporting learners' self-regulation. Additionally, the project supports the activities of the Education Deans’ Forum – Kenya (EDF-K) in teacher education reform, emphasizing the enhancement of teacher educators’ pedagogical digital competence.
The activities include launching a professional development program, training teacher educators, establishing a mentorship network, developing learning materials, and evaluating the impact of the training. The program applies a Living Labs approach, bringing together teacher educators and education researchers to co�develop and test innovative technology-enhanced teaching practices.

At the same time, the effectiveness and impact of these methods on teaching and learning quality will be analyzed. This collaborative and co-creative process enables the integration of theory and practice, ensuring that the developed solutions are research-based, locally adapted, and contribute to improving the quality of teacher education.
The program involves 20 teacher educators who will participate in the professional development program and receive mentorship and practical support in implementing educational technology. Through the mentorship program, less experienced teacher educators will be paired with experienced mentors who provide guidance and support, helping them refine their teaching practices and integrate educational technology effectively into their instruction.
