Within the project, a one-day leadership and decision-making level event will be conducted, consisting of an introductory roundtable discussion and a scenario-based tabletop exercise. The direct beneficiaries of the project are Kenya’s cybersecurity governance authorities, representatives of ministries, private sector and critical infrastructure organisations, and academia.

Project objectives

The primary objective of the project is to strengthen Kenya’s cyber incident response capabilities by facilitating coordination, shared learning, and operational readiness across key stakeholders (Cybersecurity Governance, General Governance, Private Sector, Academia).

Actions and results

The initiative will focus on addressing identified challenges through leadership-level convenings and practical cybersecurity capacity building activities, including application of incident response frameworks and playbooks, sectoral SOC coordination discussions, and scenario-based tabletop exercises. It will enhance individual and organization level skills but also reinforce cross-sector cooperation and national cyber resilience.

As expected outcomes, operational preparedness for cyber crises will improve, a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities will increase, and trust and information sharing between the public and private sectors will be strengthened.
