Mondo's aim in its global education activities is to support schools, teachers, youth workers and young people in tackling global issues. In planning the activities for this project, we have again been guided by the Global Education Competences Model and the themes, skills, values and practices it sets out. At its core is the understanding that understanding global challenges and their interlinkages is essential to ensure that young people are prepared and empowered to contribute to a more just, sustainable and holistic world.

Project objectives

The goal of the project is to support the stronger integration of Global Education (GE) into the Estonian education system, focusing on the issues of planetary sustainability, including climate change and climate justice, and promoting global awareness and responsibility.

Actions and results

This is achieved through the following activities and results:

1. As part of the project, 7 infographics aimed at high school students will be published with the aim of helping to understand the causes, consequences and solutions of climate change. In addition, a broad GE instructional material for teachers and the global citizen competency model will be updated/improved.

2. The organization of Global Days and GE projects in educational establishments is supported, where at least 2,950 students can participate in various activities and discussions related to global issues, especially environment and climate change. Events provide an opportunity for hands-on learning and school community involvement.

3. In the course of the project, a multi-part Global Education course and 3 short trainings for education workers will be conducted in order to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills that support the integration of GE into teaching.
