The overall objective of this project is to support improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Ukrainian higher education system by involving the best practices of Estonia. The project's target group is university academic staff (with a priority for relocated universities), in total 19 universities evacuated from the occupied territories to different regions in Ukraine (Donetsk, Luhansk, Vinnytsia, Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Kyiv), education administrators, representatives of international education support structures operating in Ukraine (Erasmus+ and ENIC), and NGOs (for example, in pseudoscience). This project consists of five work packages: internationalisation, quality standards, e-learning tools, education marketing, and ethical governance in universities.

Project objectives

This project aims to support improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Ukrainian higher education system by introducing the best practices of Estonia.

Actions and results

The project plan includes:
● a survey on the use of e-learning methods in Ukrainian universities
● preparation of training material for EU cooperation programmes
● survey analysis
● a review of writing and translation into Ukrainian
● compilation of a slide programme on the possibilities of EU cooperation programmes based on the aspect of higher education
● a seminar entitled, "Possibilities of EU Cooperation Programmes for Universities" (virtual)
● training entitled, "e-Learning in Universities"
● an information day entitled, "Support Structures in Universities"
● a study tour to Estonian universities, part of "e-Learning in Universities""
● information days entitled, "Synergy of International Programmes" (virtual)
● an analysis of the survey, "Ethics Management Systems in Universities"
● a competition for e-learning-based lecture course ideas
● workshops entitled, "Ethics Management Systems in Universities"
● structured interviews
● a workshop on writing international cooperation projects
● a training visit to Brussels
● a workshop led by the author of the ten best e-learning lecture plan ideas in Estonia
● a presentation seminar of five lecture courses (virtual)
● seminars entitled, "Road to Excellence - Quality Requirements for Universities" (virtual) and "Ethics Management Systems in Universities"
● seminars entitled, "The Path to Excellence: Quality Requirements for Universities" (virtual)
