Implementation of the global citizen competency model in Viljandi Gymnasium
Project objectives
The purpose of this project is to systematically introduce the global citizen competency model and the foundations of global education into the daily activities of Viljandi Viljandi Upper Secondary School. It is important to open up the topic of identity and diversity based on the competence model of a world citizen through the perspective of teaching a study group and the subject study of social and natural sciences.
Actions and results
In the course of the project, based on the lesson plans of the school's social direction, cross-subject digital instructional materials focusing on the theme of identity and diversity of the global citizen competency model will be created, and a global education project competition aimed at students will be conducted, the implementation of which will also be supported through the project.
It is important to involve students in the activities, we look forward to their input both in updating the curriculum and in the preparation of study material. The specific beneficiaries of the project are all teachers and students of Viljandi Viljandi Upper Secondary School, and more broadly, all teachers, students and parents of schools in Viljandi County. The most important results of the project are boot camp trainings based on the global citizen competency model for all 10th grade students and group instructors, updated lesson plans and the implementation of a student global education project competition.
