The project addresses challenges faced by Moldovan HEIs through engaging three target audiences: 1) equipping educators with digital skills and strengthening e-learning quality assurance practices; 2) enhancing MA students’ knowledge of European integration and improving “future skills” to make them competitive in the labor market as the next generation of European leaders; 3) uplifting the professional skills of doctoral students by creating networking opportunities with the Estonian researchers to facilitate the transfer of know-how and best practices.

The project builds on previous successful collaboration between the UT and MSU (BEst4ME) by expanding the scope of the activities to new areas and reaching wider audiences to ensure sustainability.

Project objectives

The project aims to: 1) to enhance the teaching competences of Moldovan higher education institutions and to expand the portfolio of innovative learning experiences in order to strengthen educational capacities; 2) to raise students' knowledge and interest in European studies in order to motivate them to raise democratic awareness and to acquire applicable knowledge and skills to prepare them for future EU-related careers or public sector employment, thus promoting Moldova's Europeanisation process; 3) to promote international exposure of doctoral students to high quality research practices and to enhance the skills of researchers in the field of European studies, international relations and policy, and to support cooperation with their Estonian counterparts.

Actions and results

As a result of the project, MSU faculty will benefit from online training aimed at expanding the portfolio of modern pedagogical approaches and innovative techniques for digital education offered by Moldovan universities. Moldovan undergraduate and postgraduate students in International Relations, Political Science and Public Administration will have the opportunity to participate in specialised online and on-site courses on topics related to European studies at the MSU, as well as to participate in a study trip to Tallinn to see the work of the European Union institutions. Early-stage researchers will have the opportunity to take part in advanced doctoral studies, spend research periods in Tartu to present and develop their research, access resources and databases locally, and exchange practices and experiences with local doctoral students and researchers.
