During wartime, bomb shelters are required in all Ukrainian childcare facilities. The centers have an average of 30 children and support staff daily. In the event of an air raid, both children and support staff are required to take shelter. In the Zhytomyr shelter, an existing vegetable cellar was used as a bomb shelter to continue the institution's operations. It lacks ventilation and reasonable conditions for children to take shelter. The Korosten center currently does not have a bomb shelter.

Project objectives

The aim of the project is to design modern and child-friendly bomb shelters for the children's shelter "Sunshine Home" in the city of Zhytomyr and the shelter "Faith, Hope, Love" in the city of Korosten.

Actions and results

As a result of the project, construction projects for a modern reinforced concrete bomb shelter will be created for both centers and the project expertise required in Ukraine will be ordered. The interior architecture of the bomb shelter will take into account the specifics of the childcare institution, and the center's rooms will be designed to be child-friendly and bright.
