Conference on Environmental Justice
Project objectives
The goal of the project is to organize Estonia's first international conference focusing on environmental justice and its pre- and post-events/activities such as documental movie nights, youth program and street art.
Actions and results
The conference in Estonia focuses on the topic of environmental justice, raises awareness and promotes networking between Estonians and more importantly on an international level, bringing together approximately 150 participants and offering live broadcasts to those who cannot attend the event physically.
The conference creates a platform for high-level discussions, addresses the complexity and systemic changes of environmental and climate change, involving international advocates and climate justice experts and activists from development cooperation target countries as well as specialists from Estonia, in order to emphasize everyone's contribution and perspectives. In order to discuss issues of climate justice, it is important to connect the conference with relevant and connected topics from the Estonian perspective and to involve local experts.
The project also includes extensive media coverage to increase awareness - it is planned to publish articles on the same topic and cover the topic of climate justice more widely in the media in order to create a prerequisite for the continuation of the social debate.
